Class survey

Fall 2013 Sta 101 students came up with survey questions on the first day of class. An anonymous survey using these questions was then administered on Sakai, and the data file below includes the responses to the survey questions. Some observations and variables have been dropped due to identifiability issues. A list of variables and the survey questions they correspond to are also given below.

  3. time_zone: Which time zone did you live in at home? (Pacific Standard Time, Mountain Time Zone, Central Time Zone, Eastern Time Zone, Others)
  4. shoes: How many pairs of shoes do you own?
  5. siblings: How many siblings do you have?
  6. campus: What campus do you live on? (East Campus, Central Campus, West Campus, Off-Campus, Other)
  7. top: What color top are you wearing? (Red, Blue, Black, White, Other)
  8. age: How old are you?
  9. fav_sport: What is your favourite sport? (Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Other)
  10. pets: How many pets do you have?
  11. fav_food: What is your favorite type of food? (Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Mediterranean, Other)
  12. year: What year are you at Duke? (First-year, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Grad student)
  13. mile_speed: How fast can you run a mile? (Your response should be in seconds)
