STA122: Bayesian and Modern Statistics
Project Guidelines:
For your final project please analyze a data a Bayesian approach. If you do not have a specific problem in mind please see me for suggestions. Datasets from the Statistical Sleuth (STA121) or from STA290 may be appropriate. Please check with me to verify suitability once you have identified a topic.
We will have poster presentations during the final exam period. Your poster should include the following material
- Introduction to problem - background information, scientific objectives of the analysis
- Discussion of the data - (source, types of variables, etc)
- Model(s) for the data (discuss distributional assumptions, parameters of interest and how they relate to the objectives)
- Choice of prior distributions (selection of prior parameters)
- Posterior inference (include posterior distributions of key findings that relate back to objectives)
- Discussion/Conclusions - how does the analysis address the objectives laid out in the introduction?
