class: center, middle, inverse, title-slide # Lab 02 ## Data Wrangling and Visualization ### Shawn Santo ### 01-24-20 --- ## Find your teammates Teams are posted on Sakai (as of 9:00am). Please sit with your teammates. By the end of today's lab, your team should: - Decide on a team name. - Find a weekly 2-hour block that your team can meet to finish labs. You may not need to use this time every week, but it will be helpful to already have a plan for the weeks that you do need extra time. - Determine a way to communicate outside of labs and group meetings - Slack is a great option. - Report all of the above using this [survey](https://forms.gle/6yLEcLqsA2toa8jh9). --- ## Getting started - Navigate to https://classroom.github.com/a/j30XyFAc and accept the assignment. - Click the link to go to your private repo, lab02-[github_name]. - In your repo, click on the green **Clone or download button**, select **Use HTTPS** if it is not already selected. Click on the clipboard icon to copy the repo URL. - Go to RStudio Cloud and into the **STA 199.001 - Spring 20** course workspace. Create a **New Project from Git Repo**. You will need to click on the down arrow next to the **New Project** button to see this option. - Copy and paste the URL of your assignment repo into the pop up dialog box. - Click OK. --- ## Configure git Next, we need to configure git so RStudio and GitHub can communicate with each other. Type the following lines of code in the **Console** pane: ```r library(usethis) use_git_config(user.name = "your name", user.email = "your email") ``` .small-text[ Make sure you input your name and your email address associated with GitHub in the above code. ] --- ## Lab 02 - As you work on Lab 02 (individual lab) + work with those that are on your team, + ask questions, + don't be afraid to experiment in R, you can't break anything. - Pay special attention to the submission procedure: + your PDF needs to be uploaded to Gradescope, + mark your answers on their respective page numbers, + associate the "Overall" graded section with the first page.
