Web Start
If you choose the web start version, you will
always be working with the most up-to-date version of GraphExplore
that is available on our website and you will not need to worry about
installing additional software required by GraphExplore.
First
you need to install Java Web Start on your computer:
Remember
that this is a step you have to perform only once.
Now
you are ready to
Download Stand-Alone Version
As an alternative to the web-start version, you may download stand-alone versions to run directly
from your computer.
We
would like to hear from you especially if you
attempted to run GraphExplore on a different operating system. GraphExplore makes use of
the following free third party libraries: For
Windows operating systems, all these libraries are already included in the
installation package. The packages for the other platforms include only Batik
and Xerces, so you need to install JVM
1.4 and GraphViz
on your own. Again, GraphExplore functions just fine without GraphViz since we
noticed that the installation of this layout engine might not be easy on some
operating systems. Download the
package that is suitable for your computer from these links: GraphExplore
for Linux Then copy
the archive in the directory where you wish to run GraphExplore and unpack it.
You can start the application as follows: If
the application has been properly installed on your computer, you will see
GraphExplore’s main window right after a small
splash window that looks like this: If you do not
see the splash window (exactly like the one above), your copy of GraphExplore
is not properly installed.

replace 1024 with 512 (for example) in the previous command line.
