STA 390 Statistical Consulting

Course Description:
This course will involve students will real life consulting
with researchers at Duke University. Topics covered will
include: statistical modeling strategies; aspects of statistical
communication; and working with clients.
Course work:
For the most part, students will attend actual consulting
sessions thru the
Statistical Consulting Center
at Duke Statistics and will be expected to play a role in the consulting.
The scheduled class time will typically be spent reviewing
consulting sessions that went on the previous week.
Software:
We'll primarily use Splus and SAS
