STA104/MTH135: Probability
Homework #2: Conditional Probability
Due: Thursday, Sep 11
Text Problems are from Jim Pitman, Probability (1st edn).
- Exercises
§ 1.4: | | 1 | 3 | 4 | 6 | 10 |
§ 1.5: | | 3 | 5 |
§ 1.6: | | 1 | 5 | 8 |
- Another Problem
Sometimes the Refectory (lunch restaurant in the Divinity School) offers
Tuna Melts, sometimes they don't; sometimes they offer Vegetarian Chili,
sometimes not.
We will treat these (on a specific day--- say, today) as random events.
- Give a Sample Space with each of the possible outcomes.
How many possible outcomes are there?
- Does an equally-likely probability assignment seem appropriate?
Why or why not?
Good Luck!
