STA 390 Statistical Consulting

Course Description:
This course will involve students will real life consulting
with researchers at Duke University. Topics covered will
include statistical modeling strategies, aspects of statistical
communication and working with clients.
Course work:
For the most part, students will attend actual consulting
sessions thru the
Statistical Consulting Center
at Duke Statistics and will be expected to play a role in the consulting.
The scheduled class time will typically be spent reviewing
consulting sessions that went on the previous week and discussing examples
from Applied Statistics by Cox and Snell.
Software:
We'll primarily use Splus and R
