Discussion Papers Series

At the establishment of the Institute of Statistics and Decision Sciences (ISDS) in 1987-- the Institute that evolved into the Department of Statistical Science at Duke-- the research output of the faculty was partly recorded through the local repository of ISDS and then Statistical Science discussion papers. The historical repository is accessible here. Then, faculty contributed new and working papers to this depository as the main public point of access to research in progress and submitted for publication. This continued until the mid-late 2000s when global repositories including (primarily) arXiv were established. As a result, you can track back though our Duke records and archives from 1987 onwards here, understanding that from early 2000s on the recorded reports here decreasingly represent the departmental portfolio as things morphed to public archives, including arXiv, as well as personal-professional web sites of faculty and other Duke researchers. And then support for the departmental archive was deprecated in 2015 or so, and manuscripts are accessible elsewhere since then.

Such Statistical Science and, earlier, ISDS discussion papers filtered by year are below. As noted above, this is increasingly sparse in terms of representing work in progress in the later years listed (and tracking ended completely in 2015) while the earlier years are comparatively comprehensive and many items link to original archived documents.
