Alternative to Minitab you can use Splus. We will not discuss SPlus in class and it is in no way required for the course. But if you are sufficiently computer literate to teach yourself by reading the -- excellent -- free on-line tutorial, we strongly suggest you do so. SPlus gives you far better graphics and more flexibility in general than Minitab. Minitab really is only a minimal educational package for use in intro classes (like 113). SPlus is a professional statistics package.
