Students will have user accounts on the small cluster in the genetics lab in room 389 CARL building. Demos of some commerical software (Partkek, possible others) will be held as part of the course, and students may use these facilities for course project work. All students will be expected to become proficient in basic data exploration and statistical analysis using Matlab (or similar) on Duke machines or on personal machines. Matlab will be used in class and supported for student project development. Other software may be used, according to students' backgrounds and interests, though not supported as part of the course.
